![]() Positioning yourself as an expert is a great goal to have for your social media marketing. Sharing smart, educational information about your field is the perfect way to achieve that goal. Develop a strategy for social media, so when someone looks for information in your field - they find you! First, decide which social media tools your comfortable with and can keep updated: Blog, Email Newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn... Then, decide how often you'll post information and be consistent. Make a plan on how you'll promote your posts or email newsletter and stick to it! 1. Write your own content. Use a blog, or your email list and share helpful information, "How-to" articles, tips, DIY project ideas, videos... And then cross-promote it on your networks (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook). 2. Connect with people and network online. Don't just push your own services or products (that reads desperate) start and participate in conversations. The goal is to stay ahead of your competition and be top of mind when someone asks for a referral or needs your product or services. If you're sharing information and providing relevant, smart ideas and help, the referrals and new customers will come to you. 3. Share relevant articles. Retweet articles on Twitter, share blog posts and articles on your Facebook page, comment on popular articles on LinkedIn. Take a position, talk about which point you thought was the most important, ask if your readers agree with the author... be engaging!
